1. I drank tea this morning. And it stayed put. This is a momentous happening! (No, I'm not pregnant...just some tummy issues)

2. It's a good thing I wear a mouthguard when I sleep. I don't know what's going on in my dream-life, but last night I was gnashing my teeth so much that I woke myself up. Also, I had a dream that I broke my parents' dog's leg. The sound is still in my head. Please, collective LJ mind, if anyone knows what this might mean, I'd be grateful to know.

3. Homemade crackers are divine, easy, and cheap. I'm never buying crackers again - talk about price gouging!

Recipe is here.

4. I love my agent. Truly, I do. I am a very lucky writer.

5. And lastly but not leastly, desks of some writerly folk.

So what does your desk look like?

I'm glad you're starting to recover from the tummy issues... I hope the tea means things are starting to find their way back to normal.

(And my desk is actually clean, at the moment! I spent two days moving all my children's papers to a new cabinet, clearing away bills and old folders, and dusting. I now have my own place to write, with some lovely stones to help unblock me. :))

Oooo, lovely stories! I've yet to read something of yours, you know...*hint hint*

By the way, did you get my email about needing your snail mail addy?

The cracker recipe looks great--did you use semolina flour?

I did, as well as adding sesame & nigella seeds. I'm going to try a rye flour next time and see what happens...:)

I'm definitely going to try making crackers. The recipe doesn't actually say how long to bake them for, how long did you do?

It was in the range of 8 to 10 minutes, but my oven's a bit slow, and I think the time will depend on how thin you get them, so I'd suggest just watching them...

(I also didn't use a pizza stone, so that may affect things if you do...)

I guess I'll have to experiment a bit. I've got a pizza stone.

Let me know how they turn out! :)

Your dream. You really have to know someone to interpret their dreams because we all have our own symbols, but I'll take a shot at it.

The fact that you broke your parents' dog's leg, and not say, your parents' leg, is significant. So what you're breaking is something related to them, but not something that directly hurts them. However, you heard it snap, and it was obviously disturbing to you. I'm guessing you felt guilty. Guilt and remorse. So is there something between you and your parents that has been broken? Something that distresses you more than them? Perhaps something about which they might say, "Oh, honey, forget about it, it's over and done with," but you can't forget? Alternatively, your parents could represent someone or something else. Perhaps an institution that has taken care of you, or someone you feel indebted to whom you know loves you.

Anything there? :)

Interesting...I'll give it some thought. Thanks!

Yeah for keeping tea down. But major yuck for ulcer causing you havoc in the first place. Homemade crackers sound really yummy. Might have to try that myself!

Rest and feel better!
